NBA -- Spurs win 14th straight as Sixers drop 25 in a row

SAN FRANCISCO -- The San Antonio Spurs extended their winning streak to 14 games Monday night to keep the NBA's best record with a 54-16 record.
Austin Daye made 6 of 10 triples for 22 points and the usually dependable Tim Duncan added 19 and five boards and the Spurs beat the Philadelphia Sixers, 113-9,1 at the AT & T Center.
The defeat was the Sixers' 25th in a row, putting them one loss away from tying the NBA's longest losing streak at 26. Philadelphia plays the Rockets in Houston on Thursday night.
The Spurs took a modest 31-24 lead after one quarter before padding the lead to 60-44 at the half. They eventually led by 24 and never looked back. San Antonio finished with 44 of 79 field goals and 13 of 27 3-point shots.
"It felt like (the Spurs) were running 100 mph out there. They were moving and passing and cutting. You take one thing from them and they pick you apart with something," said Sixers guard Thaddeus Young, who finished with 17.
Rookie Michael Carter-Williams also finished with 17 and Byron Mullens added 15 but the 15-56 Sixers shot a poor 40.9 percent from the field (36-of-88) and 33.3 percent from 3-point range (11-of- 33). (JSM)
