GUIAO PLANS TO HAVE RAIN OR SHINE PUSH THE PACE VS SANMIG COFFEE By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Wed, 12 Feb 2014 Rain Or Shine coach Yeng Guiao said he plans to run SanMig Coffee into the ground in Game 1 of the PBA Finals which begins on Friday, capitalizing on what he feels may be their tiredness after a seven game series with Ginebra San Miguel. Guiao who followed the game on television told the Manila Standard ?We?ll try to push the pace and take advantage of the long break that we had. We are fresh we are excited to play so we want to release that excitement by playing with a lot of energy.? He said ?in keeping the pace quick we feel that SanMig Coffee is going to be a little tired but they still have adrenalin flowing in their veins? after their smashing victory over crowd favorites Ginebra on Wednesday before an all-time record crowd of almost 25,000 paying fans at the Araneta Coliseum. Guiao indicated ?that?s an advantage we can exploit. We?ll push the pace just like what we did against Petron? in their own semi final series which Rain or Shine won handily 4-1. The sometimes fiery head coach revealed ?we will use our full rotation. We have been successful with that and we?ll keep attacking the basket.? However, he said SanMig Coffee ? is a totally different team from Petron Blaze. They don?t have the weakness that Petron had but they also don?t have the advantage of having guys like Junmar Fajardo or Arwind Santos.? Guiao added SanMig Coffee is ?a totally different animal to play.? The Pampanga congressman revealed that the Rain Or Shine defense which has been ?underrated is the key. People see our offense, our fast game, the way we move the ball around but the reason we are here is because we defended well.? Guiao emphasized ?If you notice we have no weak link in defense. Every single guy in the team can play defense? adding that RoS is ?Hoping for a good start. We are ready plan to play our best on Friday.?
