GAME DEMECILLO FAILS TO SURVIVE ONSLAUGHT OF ?TORNADO? SANCHEZ
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Sun, 19 Jan 2014

Marco Demecillo who is known for his courage once again fought gallantly but was blown away in spectacular fashion by Mexican David ?Tornado? Sanchez in Sonora, Mexico.
Sanchez who is No.3 in the WBC super flyweight ratings and No. 5 in the WBO, dropped the tough Demecillo towards the end of round four and although the Filipino attempted to get up he soon collapsed back on the canvas and was knocked out at 2:56 of the fourth round.
With the win Sanchez captured the vacant WBA International super flyweight title while his record improved to 24-2-2 with 19 knockouts while Demecillo falls to 19-2-1 with 14 knockouts.
Sanchez won by a 1st round knockout over Venezuela?s Jean Piero Perez last November 2, 2013. Perez had earlier lost by a majority twelve round decision to flyweight contender Milan Melindo in a clash for the WBO International flyweight title on September 22, 2012.
Sanchez also defeated Mexican Juan Kantum on August 21, 2013 after Kantun was dropped in rounds 1, 3 and 7 en route to a unanimous ten round decision over Oriental Pacific Boxing Federation flyweight champion Rocky ?The Road Warrior? Fuentes on April 20, 2013.
However, Sanchez escaped with a majority twelve round decision against skilful Marlon Tapales in a battle for the interim WBC Silver super flyweight title on February 23, 2013.
Reporting on the fight BoxingScene said Sanchez ?had a tough time against Tapales who did everything to upset the odds.?
