LUMACAD HURTS HIS WRIST IN BIZARRE FASHION, LOSES BY 1ST ROUND KO

Filipino Fernando Lumacad suffered a bizarre loss to undefeated Mexican Horacio ?Violento? Garcia when he was caught with a hard right hand on his wrist more than once forcing Lumacad to drop to the canvas in pain and was counted out by the referee in Guadalajara, Mexico.
BoxingScene reported that when action began to heat up in the opening round a right which was aimed at Lumacad?s chin instead caught him on his glove leaving the Filipino in severe pain.
Garcia attempted three more power shots, all of which were blocked by Lumacad's glove but the terrible pain forced him to drop to the canvas when the referee counted him out since Lumacad couldn?t continue.
With the win, the 23 year old Garcia captured the vacant WBC Continental Americas super bantamweight title and improved his record to 25-0 with 17 knockouts.
On the other hand the 27 year old Lumacad, nicknamed ?Trigger?, dropped to 29-7-3 with 12 knockouts.
It was the third loss Lumacad suffered against Mexican fighters. He dropped a twelve round decision to Carlos Cuadras in a WBC Silver super flyweight title fight on November 24, 2012 and suffered a 1st round knockout at the hands of Felipe Orucuta in a scheduled ten round bout also in Mexico on January 26, 2013.
In between the losses Lumacad won by a 3rd round TKO in a six round bout against Dondon Narvaez who has a poor record of 8-18-3 with 3 knockouts and a six round unanimous decision over Renante Suacasa on Kuly 1, 2013.
Suacasa had a record of 5-7 with 1 knockout.
In the latest published ratings by the Games and Amusements Board in October, Lumacad was rated No. 4 flyweight yet he was sanctioned to fight against an undefeated Mexican at super bantamweight.
