The 28 year old Arroyo who has a record of 14-1 with 12 knockouts is coming off a 4th round TKO of Miguel Tamayo last February 2, 2013 following a 5th round TKO when he won the WBO title in a battle with Ronald Ramos on September 27, 2012.

McWilliams Arroyo is best known for winning the gold medal at the 2009 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Milan, Italy on September 12 and also in the 2007 Pan American Games.

He is the twin brother of boxer McJoe Arroyo. They are the second set of twins to qualify for the Olympic Games in boxing.
