NBA -- Sixers outlast Lakers, 111-104

LOS ANGELES -- Despite shooting just 41 percent from the field, the Philadelphia 76ers pulled a 111-104 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers Sunday night at Staples Center.
Thaddeus Young scored 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Sixers while teammate Even Turned added 22. Spencer Hawes had 19 and eight boards and Michael Carter-Williams chipped in 13 for Philly, which improved to 9-21.
Nick Young paced the Lakers with 25 but he missed 15 of 21 field goals. Jodie Meeks had 15 but the Lakers made on 31 of 84 shots and dropped to 13-18 in the overall standings.
The injury-depleted Lakers played without Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Steve Nash and Steve Blake. And they lost Xavier Henry to injury in the opening quarter of this tiff.
"We have guys battling, but it's not enough right now. It's very disappointing," Lakers head coach Mike D'Antoni told reporters after the game.
