MAG PACMAN PROMOTIONS INAUGURAL OFFERING DEC 13 By Eddie Alinea PhilBoxing.com Sun, 01 Dec 2013 Boxing with a touch of class and a triple championship card is what MAG Pacman International Boxing Promotions will be presenting on their initial offering on December 13 at the luxurious Solaire Resort and Casino in Pasay City. Power-punching Michael ?Iron Hand? Farenas, the Filipino super-featherweight who took the international boxing world by a storm by holding his own against undefeated former world featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez IV last year in Las Vegas, headlines the card when he faces Mexican Jesus ?Chito? Rios in the 10-round main dish. The co-main event in the card entitled ?The First Blood? presented by the combined efforts of Pacquiao himself, two-division champion Gerry Penalosa and businessman-sportsman Anson Tiu Co,? features PH bantamweight champion Richard ?The Beast? Pumicpic against Rios? countryman Luis Lugo, also in 10 rounds. Undefeated 22-year-old Dodie Boy ?Dugong Kampeon? Penalosa Jr. makes his return to the ring when he battles Alem Robles rounding out the triple m,ain event presentation that is a virtual continuation of the long running ?Philippines vs. Mexico? rivalry. MAG ,which stands for Manny-Anson-Gerry Pacman International Boxing Promotions, according to Penalosa during Friday?s SCOOP Sa kamayan session, is aimed not only of discovering talents but also helping the promising discoveries in their quest for glory for the country in the international arenas. ?We have plenty of young and fresh talents in the provinces, which we only have to tap and give the chance to fight in the world stage at yun ang layunin namin dito ni Manny at Anson ang mabigyan ang mga Pilipinong bokingero na lumaban abroad, especially for the world titles,? Penalosa said during the forum, sponsored by the Philippine charity Sweepstakes Office. ?No, we?re not be looking for another Manny Pacquiao, nag-i-isa lamang si Manny at wala na siyang makakapareho pa. Ang hananapin namin dito ay ang makakapalit niya sa world champions,? Penalosa stressed. ?Marami tayong talent na hindi lang natin nata-tap o hindi nabibigyan ng pagkakataon.? Co, whose family owns the Cooyeesan Hotel in Baguio City, site of the Shape Up Boxing Gym, home of Pacquiao?s training camp while preparing in the Pines City, agreed, adding though that his group is committed to helping, too, those to be sent to international arenas in their preparation. ?What is happening now kasi yung mga pinadadala natin, hindi prepared, kaya malimit natatalo. o kung manalo man ng world titles, first defense pa lang, talo agad,? he lamented. ?Marami rin nae-exploit lamang ng mga unscrupulous promoters and handlers. Marami rin nasusubo sa iligal na gawain. We, Manny, Gerry and I believe that our boxers should protected, too.? Co also said that the group?s partnership with Solaire Resort is one way to make boxing run like a profession. ?Propesyon ang pagbo-boksing. So we also believe that we make our boxers real pros. Lalaban sa medyo class na lugar just like fights held in Laas Vegas.? Penalosa said so far, the MAG stable has six boxers sin its fold, ?but we are looking to add more, especially mga bata. We hope to provide these boxers training facilities and exposures they need to bring honor and glory to the country like what Manny is doing.? So far, nine bouts have been lined up in the December 13 cards although there is the possibility of adding a couple more, Co and Penalosa chorused.
