NBA -- Bulls tame Raptors for season's first road win
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Sun, 17 Nov 2013

CHICAGO -- With Derrick Rose sitting out with a sore hamstring, the Chicago Bulls secured their first road win of the season by demolishing the Toronto Raptors, 96-80, Friday night at the Air Canada Centre.
All five Bulls starters finished with double figures in scoring with Luol Deng spearheading the offense with 19 points. Center Joakim Noah had 18 and nine rebounds while Jimmy Butler and Carlos Boozer contributed 14 apiece. Kirk Hinrich ran the offense smoothly with 12 points and four assists.
"I thought we did a good job of being efficient in the paint early. They started coming with double teams and we did a good job of moving the ball to our shooters," Boozer, who added eight rebounds to his haul, told the Chicago Tribune.
DeMar DeRozan caught fire for the Raptors with 37 points on 13-for-22 shooting including 4-for-6 from 3-point range. But the rest of the Raptors combined only for 16-of-60 from the field. At one point in the opening half, Toronto missed 23 of 25 shots outside the paint.
After hurting his hamstring in Monday's win over the Cleveland Cavaliers at the United Center, Rose sat out the Toronto visit as expected. He is doubtful for Saturday night when the undefeated 9-0 Indiana Pacers visit Chicago.
"Just being smart about the situation. There's nothing like rest. The tightness just didn't loosen up. If it's still tight there's no need to play," Rose said.
After leading by as many as 27 points, the Bulls improved their record to 4-3 while the Raptors fell to 4-6. (Homer D. Sayson)
