IBO MINIMUM WEIGHT CHAMPIIN BUDLER ADDS WBA TITLE IN 4TH ROUND TKO WIN

 Budler.
IBO minimum weight champion Hekkie Budler added the WBC belt with a 4th round TKO over Argentina?s Hugo Verchelli at the Emperors Palace in South Africa on Sunday morning Manila Time.
Budler displayed his old fiery form dropping Verchelli three times before referee Stan Christodoulou stopped the bout with 31 seconds left in the round.
Sporting bright blue hair for a change, Super Sport in South Africa reported that Budler ?used the old buzzsaw tactics that had made him such a popular fighter at the venue near Kempton Park, east of Johannesburg. He took charge in the first round and just when it seemed Verchelli was getting into the action he mowed him down with a two-fisted attack.?
While the Argentine challenger was not one of the best boxers Budler had fought such as Filipino Renan Trongco, former IBF champion Florante Condes, OPBF champion Michael Landero and many times world title challenger Juanito Rubillar as well as countryman Nkosinathi Joyi there was no doubting Budler?s intent. He was all aggression; hungry for another impressive victory.
In his fourth defense of the title against Verchelli who ranked No 8 by the WBA but 28th by the IBO, Budler gave the spectators what they had not seen earlier when Tommy Oosthuizen beat Ezequiel Maderna in the other big bout on the Golden Gloves Promotions bill.
The 25 year old who also claimed the WBA?s interim minimum weight belt e improved his record to 25-1, with 7 knockouts.
Verchelli who turned pro some two years ago showed his lack of experience in his first fight outside his native Argentina. With the loss his record dropped to 11-2 with six knockouts.
