Gasca fired up, ready to regain status in Pinoy Pride XXII PhilBoxing.com Wed, 23 Oct 2013 ![]() In the upcoming Pinoy Pride XXII, 24-year-old Roli Gasca (20-4-1; 5 KOs)of the Philippines will be reaffirming his world-class talent. As a former OPBF super-bantamweight champion, Gasca only enjoyed the weight of his crown for three months before it was taken by Japanese fighter Yukinori Oguni (11-1) two years ago in Japan. The devastating loss seemed to offset Gasca's balance, having suffered losses in every international bout since then, including another shot at the IBO world title against Alexander Bakhtin (31-0) last year in Moscow, Russia. But Gasca, known as ?Zuma?, is on his way back to the top. He defeated his last opponent Jimmy Aducal in a unanimous decision in the main event of a ALA-Cobra match earlier this year. His team's faith in him is strong as ever. ?Gasca is a fighter who shows a lot of talent and a high I.Q inside the ring. We still believe that he has the potential to be a world title challenger in the future,? said ALA Promotions President and CEO Michael Aldeguer. His next battle this October 26th will be with southpaw Indonesian Lande Olin (11-4) on the undercard of the Servania vs. Concepcion WBO Inter-continental Super Bantamweight title fight. A win would be the ignition he needs to reclaim his rank as a top fighter. On the same card, Gasca's undefeated stablemates Mark Vincent ?Machete? Bernaldez (11-0; 7 KOs) and Jessel Mark ?Magnifico? Magsayo (3-0; 2 KOs) face their own challenges. Bernaldez will take on Khunkiri Wor Wisaruth (10-5-1) from Thailand while Magsayo trades jabs with Hagibis Quinones (3-10-1), known as the ?Hard Puncher.? ?Yes (it will be a confidence booster), definitely for both of them. These fights will dictate [Gasca and Bernaldez']respective careers,? said the young CEO. ?Gasca has to get his credibility back and for Bernaldez it is to prove that he has what it takes to headline an Idol card and be the next big name in the future?, he added. The showdown will be held at Waterfront Hotel and Casino, Cebu City on October 26 and will be aired on ABS CBN Channel 2 at 10 a.m., Studio 23 at 6 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are available at SM Cebu Cinema, SM Consolacion Cinema, Robinsons Department Store Costumer Service, ALA Gym BTC, ALA Gym Mandaue, ALA Gym Minglanilla, ALA Gym Banawa and Bisaya Ispisyal Ayala, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino Lobby, FORMO restaurant and lounge, ALA Promotions Office.
