THREE FILIPINO BOXERS LOSE IN JAPAN

Three Filipino boxers have lost in a fight card at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo with Jeffrey Arienza losing in the main event in a clash for the vacant WBC Youth world lightweight title by a 10th round TKO to undefeated Japanese Masayuki Ito.
The 22 year old Ito improved his record to 12-0-1 with 4 knockouts while the 23 year old Arienza dropped to 9-2-1 with 4 knockouts.
Nicknamed ?Happy Feet? Arienza who is ranked No. 11 by the Philippine Games and Amusements Board was coming off a 3rd round TKO at the hands of Leonardo Doronio last April 13.
Japan?s No. 5 ranked light flyweight Yuki Chinen stopped Ryan Bito in the 1st round of a scheduled eight round bout to take the 29 year old Japanese fighters record to 14-1 with 7 knockouts while the 27 year old Bito fell to 22-12-3 with 8 knockouts. It was Bito?s 4th loss ? three by stoppage - in his last four fights as against one win over Thailand?s Yodsengkeng Mor Switgym who was making his debut last July 23.
In an all-Filipino battle Jovylito Aligares alias Jovy Katsumata scored a unanimous eight round decision in a super bantamweight bout against the Philippines bantamweight champion Monico Laurente had successfully defended his title with a twelve round unanimous decision over Elmar Francisco last March 25 at the Annual Gabriel ?Flash? Elorde ?Banquet of Champions.?
The 19 year old Aligarbes who is ranked No. 9 super flyweight by the GAB won on the scorecards of all three judges, 77-75, 76-75 and 77-75. He improved to 9-2 with 3 knockouts while the 29 year old Laurente dropped to 23-9 with 5 knockouts.
