NEVADA CAREFUL NOT TO NAME QUESTIONABLE JUDGES FOR BRADLEY-MARQUEZ TITLE FIGHT

PhilBoxing.com

The Nevada State Athletic Commission, under fire for the ridiculous scorecard of judge Cynthia Ross who scored the one-sided Floyd Mayweather ? Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez title fight a 114-114 draw and recalling the widely criticized split decision win of Timothy ?Desert Storm? Bradley over Manny Pacquiao, have been careful not to name questionable judges for the Bradley-Juan Manuel Marquez WBO welterweight title fight at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on October 13 (Manila Time).

The NSAC paid extra attention to the selection of officials with the Commission carefully deliberating on the recommendations of executive director Keith Kizer who himself had come under fire for his appointment of Ross in the Mayweather-Alvarez fight after she had scored the Pacquiao fight for Bradley 115-113 alongside Duane Ford who had also come under fire for his scorecard which tallied with that of Ross.

Kizer announced that the referee would be the respected Robert Byrd while the judges named were Robert Hoyle, Glenn Feldnan and Patricia Morse-Jarman.

Byrd will receive $5,000 for his services as third man in the ring which each of the judges would get $3,500.

Marquez who turned down a $13 million offer from Pacquiao himself to face him for the fifth time after scoring a stunning 6th round knockout over the ?Fighter of the Decade? last December 8 will receive a purse of $6 million while Bradley who rejected a $6 million offer from Pacquiao for a return match is reportedly receiving a purse of $4.1.

While Marquez has repeatedly stated he would not fight Pacquiao again and wishes to savor his knockout victory for the rest of his life, Bradley has left the door open f or a Pacquiao rematch in the future. The official assigned to handle the battle for the vacant WBO featherweight title between former champion Orlando Salido and top contender Orlando Cruz are referee Kenny Bayless and judges Jerry Rorth, Ed Kubler and Glenn Trowbridge.
The featherweight title was relinquished by Mikey Garcia who has moved up to junior lightweight and will challenge WBO champion Roman ?Rocky? Martinez in Corpus Christi on November 9 with 2012 ?Fighter of the Year? Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire facing Vic Darchinyan in a rematch over ten rounds with both fighters moving up to 126 pounds.

Donaire has said he hopes to get a crack at the winner of the Salido-Cruz clash should he beat Darchinyan whom he knocked out in the 5th round to win the IBF/IBO flyweight belts on July 7, 2007.
