WBC super featherweight world champion Takashi Miura has arrived in Japan after successfully defending his title against rugged Mexican Sergio ?Yeyo? Thompson last Saturday in Cancun, Mexico after which he had to be rushed to the hospital when he began to vomit blood.

The WBC said ?Champion Miura proved he?s a solid champion by successfully defended his title abroad for the first time? even though he vomited blood after the brutal bout and was rushed to the hospital where doctors he had suffered some damage to his liver.

Miura was described by the WBC as ?a proud member of Teiken Promotions, is happy for this great victory against a very tough Mexican warrior like Thompson who floored him for the first time in his entire career.?

Big Japanese businessman and owner of the Teiken Gym and Teiken Promotions Akihiko Honda praised Miura for his ?great and hard won victory even as he indicated that Miura?s next fight could take place in Japan in November.
