EX-WBF CHAMP MAGAHIN'S BIG COMEBACK

PhilBoxing.com

No one can stop a man's destiny really. Man's luck always comes in so many ways and forms regardless of his past and sad experiences.

This writer is referring to the former World Boxing Foundation (WBF) welterweight king William Magahin. The fighter from Iloilo City is famous for his ring name as "The Black Mamba" in the international arena. Magahin was not only once but many times praised by Filipinos as one of our promising world champions before. One of his last ring apperances took place in the sports complex of Iloilo where he toppled down the canvas a foreign foe. William is black and believed to be Fil-am. He carries the name William Magahin by his adoptive parents Roland and Mrs.Magahin who are businessmen in the "Queen City of the South " and home of the Dinagyang Festival in the Ilonggo turf in Western Visayas, and that is Iloilo City.

God is really forgiving and mysterious in so many ways! For Magahin will have a big comeback in his career this coming January 13, 2007 in Tokyo, Japan under the Masuo Matsuoka Promotions. In an "all-Filipino-versus Japanese" encounters to be staged at the famous Korakuen hall. William Magahin will be featured here as one of the undercard bouts in the welter weight category against an American born opponent. And I know the "Black Mamba" will have a victorious comeback and will be seen in great action again.

I saw and had a lengthy talk with William and his father Roland while I was in Iloilo City last month visiting our regional extension office there. I noticed that William is now in good shape, with mental and physical conditioning still capable to be the best. And I can safely say that he is now ready to rumble at any given time. " I'd change for the better, and gone are those years of my wasted youth," he sincerely told this writer during our conversation.

The Games and Amusements Board particularly this representation and Chairman Eric R.Buhain will have a role to play here. Basically, we did everything to ensure not only the safety and protection of our Filipino boxers to be sent to Japan through this agency but their good chances of wiinning these fights cards.

And from all intent and reasons we are hoping that these boxers would make it to Tokyo, Japan. This is one classic opportunity and a good potential venue of competition in the Asian arena leading to Las Vegas on the part of our world class fighters. We will be expecting another future world champion Malcolm Tunacao to be on top of this promotion.

Cheers to the Filipino boxers !
