Thursday’s Action at the 2025 USA Boxing International Open Concludes PhilBoxing.com Sat, 19 Apr 2025 Semifinals competition slated for Friday at noon MT PUEBLO, Colo. (April 17, 2025) – Day three of the 2025 USA Boxing International Open wrapped Thursday evening after 61 bouts contended inside the Pueblo Convention Center in Pueblo, Colo. There were a total of 29 junior division bouts contested in the opening session, followed by 10 youth division bouts in the final session of the day. Throughout both sessions on day three, 22 elite division bouts were finalized. The women’s competition began on Thursday with 13 bouts throughout the two sessions. Westside Striking’s Izlynn Shirley (46kg) scored a 3-2 win over her opponent to kick off competition in session one, ring two. Meanwhile, Gizelle Acosta (46kg) of Fort Worth, Texas, scored a 4-1 win to open the day in session one, ring one. The second session of the day featured Tokyo 2020 Olympian Naomi Graham, who cashed in a 5-0 win over her opponent in the 75kg weight class to close out the women’s competition for the day in ring one. Kendra Samargis concluded Thursday’s women’s competition in ring two with a RSC victory. In addition to the 106 USA Boxing members competing throughout the day, the 2025 USA Boxing International Open featured boxers from Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia, Canada, Fiji, Kyrgyz Republic, New Zealand, Norway and Russia. The 2025 USA Boxing International Open continues on Friday, April 18, with 40 bouts on the schedule. Friday’s competition will feature semifinal action with only one session, which begins at noon MT. Each of the remaining two sessions of the week at the 2025 USA Boxing International Open will be broadcast live, free of charge, on the USA Boxing website.
