DONAIRE VS. ARCE FULL FIGHT REPORT AND PHOTOS By Ed de la Vega, DDS PhilBoxing.com Sun, 16 Dec 2012 Houston, Texas -- The Filipino Flash, Nonito Donaire again lived up to his name by knocking out the very game but outclassed Jorge Arce of Mexico at a fight held at the Toyota Center, home of the Houston Rockets. Immediately after the knockout, Arce stated that he has reached the end of the line in his boxing career and will retire from fighting. Donaire knocked down Arce with his not so famous right hand (his left hook is a legend) in round two. Although Arce beat the count and stood up to fight again, it was just a matter of time as to when the fight will end. Fans at the arena however knew how it will end -- by knockout. And they were right. Indeed, in round three, with Arce obviously no longer as competitive on account of the knockdown in the second round, Donaire continued his onslaught until he finally dropped the game Mexican again. But Arce again stood up only to be dropped again for the count with, you guessed it, a left hook. Referee Lawrence Cole Jr counted briefly but decided to waved off the fight with Arce laid out on his back at 2:59 of the round.
