NBA -- Sixers capture third straight win
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Thu, 22 Nov 2012

CHICAGO -- After stumbling out of the gates with a shaky 4-4 start, the Philadelphia 76ers have quietly won three in a row to grab the third spot in the powerhouse Atlantic Division behind the 8-1 New York Knicks and the 6-3 Brooklyn Nets.
The Sixers improved to 7-4 after beating the Toronto Raptors, 106-98, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Tuesday night. The Sixers pulled off the come-from-behind victory by dropping a 33-18 bomb that eviscerated a seven-point deficit after three quarters of play.
Save for a timid second quarter where they were outscored 29-22, the Raptors seemed in control of the contest and were poised for an impressive road steal. But the Sixers' big guns came alive in the final stanza to uppend Toronto, which fell to 3-8. The Raptors are 0-4 against Atlantic Division rivals.
Nick Young flourished for Philadelphia with 23 points including three bombs from 3-point range, Jason Richardson joined the assault with 21 points with four 3s. while Jrue Holiday manned the point extremely well, finishing with 19 points and 12 assists. Thhadeus Young added 18 markers and Evan Turner chipped in 12.
A 3 by Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan gave Toronto a 92-86 cushion with only 5:29 left to play. But they couldn't hold on.
"It was our game. We couldn't finish it out," said a dejected Jose Calderon, who starred for the Raptors with 13 points and 12 assists. DeRozan topscored for Toronto with 24 points while center Andrea Bargnani tallied 22 and seven rebounds. (Homer D. Sayson)
