MARQUEZ-JACA ON AGAIN FOR NOV. 25! By Salven L. Lagumbay PhilBoxing.com Sat, 28 Oct 2006 Filipino Jimrex 'The Executioner' Jaca's botched bid to take on WBO interim featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez came to life once again after it had been confirmed that the bout will now take place on November 25 in McAllen, Texas, USA. The bout was originally scheduled to take place last October 21, but Jaca's failure to secure a US visa scrapped the bout. A source from the camp of Oscar De la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions had informed this morning that the fight is now on again, and this time, Jaca's visa woes will be a thing of the past. Jaca's manager Rex 'Wakee' Salud, prior to his departure for the WBC Convention in Croatia, had informed that had Jaca not been given a chance at Marquez, the plan was to have to defend his Philippine super-featherweight title in Dumaguete City. But with this latest development, Jaca's RP title defense will now have to be postponed, or he will altogether relinquish the title if he comes out victorious against Marquez. The Nov. 25 Marquez-Jaca showdown will be telecast on HBO's 'Boxing After Dark' card. In an interview this afternoon, Jaca revealed that he has already secured a P1 visa from the US Embassy in Manila, and has not stopped training for a fight. The southpaw Jaca said that he is ready to depart for the US anytime to continue his training at Freddie Roach's Wild Card Gym, where Eric Brown is expected to take over his training along with Manny Pacquiao's Filipino trainer Buboy Fernandez. The Filipino has insisted that this time, he is all hyped up to beat Marquez as a win will allow him to become the Philippines' biggest star after Manny Pacquiao.
