The International Boxing Federation has ordered undefeated Filipino lightweight Al Sabaupan to fight Mexico?s Marvin Quintero for the No.1 ranking and a mandatory shot at IBF champion Miguel Vazquez.

IBF Championship Committee chairman Lindsey Tucker informed the Manila Standard that the No.4 ranked Sabuapan should face the No. 5 ranked Quintero with the winner getting a mandatory shot at the title.

Sabaupan and Quintero are both southpaws.

The undefeated 23 year old Sabaupan nicknamed ?Captain A? has a record of 18-0-1 with 13 knockouts while Quintero who is 25 years old has a record of 24-3 with 20 knockouts and is believed to be a big puncher.

Quintero however suffered a 2nd round knockout at the hands of Daniel Attah on November 6, 2010 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas after which the Mexican won four fights in a row, all by TKO.

Attah, for his part, lost an eight round majority decision to Michael Farenas, a prot?g? of former two-division world champion Gerry Penalosa in his next fight.

Sabaupan who is managed by youthful Elmer Anuran won the vacant IBF Pan Pacific lightweight title with a 3rd round TKO of Indonesia?s Heri Andriyanto on April 17, 2010 at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig City.

In his last title defense Sabaupan overcame Jonel Gadapan who retired in the 4th round on December 11, 2011.

Sabaupan is scheduled to clash with Mexico?s Daniel Valenzuela who has a record of 22-14-1 with 11 knockouts on February 18 in Baja California. Mexico.

The IBF lightweight champion is 25 year old Mexican Miguel Vazquez who has a record of 30-3 with 13 knockouts.

He won the vacant title with a unanimous twelve round decision over South Korea?s Ji Hoon Kim in Laredo, Texas on August 14, 2010 and has had three successful title defenses, the last against Ammeth Diaz whom he dropped in the sixth round en route to a unanimous twelve round decision last January 21, 2012.
