Mabao-Miyazaki Make Weight

Osaka, Japan - Oriental Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) light-flyweight champion Ryo Miyazaki of Japan and Filipino challenger Donny Mabao made the 108-lb limit at the weigh-in early this afternoon at the Japan Boxing Commission Office in Osaka, Japan. Mabao weighed exactly 108 lbs while Miyazaka weighed 107.5 lbs. The maximum 12-round fight will be held tomorrow, around 3 p.m., 12 June 2011.
Mabao sees this fight as his opportunity for brighter days ahead in his boxing career. He is determined to give it his all to win and bring the OPBF championship to the Philippines.
A provision of the "Final Agreement for the OPBF title Bout" states, "This is a voluntary championship fight as the mandatory due date has expired. The winner of this fight must, as his next fight, make an immediate title defense against the leading available contender as soon as possible according to the rules & regulations of the OPBF (Article 26).
