Marvin Sonsona’s Prefight Message To His Countrymen By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Fri, 04 Sep 2009 This is Marvin Sonsona’s pre-fight address to all Filipino people who supporting him: "Magandang araw sa inyo sa Pilipinas, ako po ay humihingi ng suporta at panalangin sa darating kong laban. Mainit ang pagtanggap sa akin dito ng mga kababayang Pinoy. Naging inspirasyon ko sila upang mapagsikapan kong manalo sa laban. Gagawin ko po lahat ng aking makakaya. Pinaghandaan naming mabuti ang laban na ito. At sa awa ng tulong ng Diyos maiuwi namin ang korona." His manager Dr. Rajan Yraola has updated philboxing Sonsona is now at 115.4lbs Thursday 8pm Canada time, one day before the weigh-in. The team is still working out 115 lbs today so that by Friday morning 8am Canada time he will no longer in the process of trying to make weight limit. Promoter Sammy Gello-ani also informed philboxing that Team Sonsona has transferred already at the Days Inn Hotel Orilia just infront of Casino Rama. On Thursday there will be a scheduled rules meeting at 5.30 p.m. and the pre-fight physical examination on the day of the weigh-in. Canada boxing rules state that the weigh-in is on the morning of the fight which is different from the U.S. where the weigh-in is done the day before the contest. The fight card billed as Rumble at Rama IX, set for Friday, September 4th (September 5 Saturday morning Manila Time) at Casino Rama, in Rama, Ontario. There are 6 bouts, 3 for 4 rounds, 1- 10 rounds heavy weights, 8 rounds "The Canadian Kid" Steve Molitor 29-1 (11Kos) vs Dario " El Indio De Oro" Azuaga 75-15-2 (64 kos). Molitor's opponent, Dario Azuaga, fought in the Philippines four years ago and lost a ten round decision to Gerry Penalosa. The 12 round WBO Jr. Bantamweight Championship of the World (115lbs) between Challenger "Marvelous" Marvin Sonsona 13-0 (12 KOs) vs Jose "Carita" Lopez 39-7-2 (KOs) will co-headline the event.
