TWO REGIONAL HEAVYWEIGHTS HEADLINE TACHI CASINO

PhilBoxing.com

Lemoore, CA:- At a mixed event (boxing and MMA) put up by the good people that handles sports events at this central California resort and casino known at Tachi Palace and the Goossen-Tutor Promotions, two lesser known heavyweights will tangle for the WNBC CABOFE Heavyweight Title.

The fact that the main event fighters are not on the very top of the list of world heavyweights almost guarantee a slam-bang affair as both of them are hungry to be on the top of the heap.

WBS CABOFE Heavyweight, Manuel Quezada (27-4-0-, 17KO) of Wasco, California will defend his title against Tarvis Walker (31-2-1,25KO) of Houston Texas.

Quezada who weigh in at 225.6 lbs at the official weigh in is fresh from a short one round knockout win over Jeffrey Brownfield this past April that extended his winning streak to 16 wins.

Walker on the other hand has three straight wins since his November 2008 debacle at the hands of world top ten rated Californian, Chris Arreola. Walker weigh in at 239.6 lbs.

In the supporting main event, local light welterweight Mike Dallas Jr. (8-0-1, 1KO) of nearby Bakersfield hopes to meet Francisco Rios Gil (17-9-0-12KO) of Phoenix, Arizona. Dallas made weight (140.8) but Rios Gil at press time is still out somewhere trying to sweat out extra pounds to bring him to the contractual fight weigh.

In a re-matched of two women gladiators, Jessica Rakoczy of Las Vegas (30-3-0-,10KO) will again take on

Jessica Mohs (7-20-2, 2KO) of Oklahoma City Rakoczy on their first fight KO’d Mohs in round two. Rakoczy weigh in at 127.6 and Mohs came in at 134.4 lbs

A local boy from the Southern California area called Pico Rivera, Rico Ramos (10-0-0-,6KO) will tangle with a slugger from Sinaloa, Mexico, Juan Jose Beltran (19-13-3 ,11KO) over six rounds. Ramos tipped the scales at 122.4 while Beltan was 121.2 lbs.

Hector Alatorre )15-8-0, 5KO) of Tulare will trade leathers with Christian Favela of Los Angeles in a six round welterweight fight. Alatorre came in at 140.8 and Favela at 140lbs.

The fighters for the curtain raiser, Adrian Tait ( 2-1-1,1KO) of Quartz Hill and Joshua Zurfah ,(1-5-1, 0KO) of Long Beach made weight as well. Tait came in at 147.2 and Zurfuh at 146.6

Headlining the MMA portion of the event will be Chad Mendes ( 3-0,1KO, 1 submission) of Hanford. He will be fighting Steven Siler(11-6, 1KO, 7 submission) in a three round featherweight bout. Mendez weigh in at 145.4 while Siler was 146 lbs.

In the supporting main MMA event, former Tachi Palace champ Shawn Klarcyk (9-3,40KO, 4 submissions) of Porterville will meet Shawn Bias (13-8, 3KO, 6 submissions) for three rounds. Klarcyk weigh 141 on the nose while Bias was 139.8 lbs

In a battle between two local boys, Sergio Quinones of Lemoore (2-5, 1KO 1submission) will tangle with

Chris Sanchez of Hanford (1-0, 0KO) over a three round featherweight fight. Quinones came in at 145.6 and Sanchez, 144lbs

Two rookie light heavyweights, Brandon Lorenz (1-1) of Lemoore and Mark Matthews (1-1, 1 submission)

will entertain the crowd over a 3 round fight. Lorenz weigh in at 205 and Matthews, 201 lbs

The curtain raiser for the MMA will feature Visalia’s Cody Gibson and Lemoore’s Josh Stockton. The two rookies weigh in at 155 and 152.2 respectively.
