A CELESTIAL SHOW: A GOOD OMEN FOR MANNY?

PhilBoxing.com

Los Angeles, CA: On my short drive home from the office early tonight I happen to glance up the sky and saw a spectacular sight, a half crescent moon with two bright stars alongside it. When I got home I checked the internet. The two bright objects next to the moon were not stars. They are actually Venus and Jupiter.

To many, such occurrences are no big deal. In fact, unless pointed out, they would not even notice them. But to the astronomical community, it is a huge event. The same could be true for people who are superstitious.
Reports indicate that such celestial occurrences do not happen too often. In fact, they said the last one happened in 2004 and the next one will not happen until 2052.
Seeing such a spectacular celestial show reminded me of what my grandmother used to tell us during harvest season back in the good old days at our family farm in Central Luzon right at the foot of Mount Arayat.

Grandma would say, - ?Pag naghanay and buan at mga bituin, maganda ang ating aanihin? ( If the moon lines up with the starts, harvest will be good) Of course my grandman was just being superstitious. But I never saw a bad harvest every time grandma make those pronouncements.

Just thinking, could the celestial show be a good omen for Manny Pacquiao who is also said to be superstitious?
Case in point:. Manny always go to mass at the same Catholic Church on Vine and Melrose the Sunday before his fights.

He travels to Vegas in his own vehicle. (Not even a very expensive custom painted bus provided by Bob Arum could lure him to change is mode of transport) And when he gets to town, he always stays at the same suite at the Mandalay Bay.
And, for whatever it?s worth, during the fight, he would always use his quad-colored mouthguard we proudly custom- made for him.

And, he never lost a fight since.

Gladiators like Pacquiao, much like the celestial shows do not appear too often. They seldom come to our lives. But when they do, they bring nothing but good karma.
Now, could the celestial show be considered as a good omen for Manny who is about to fight the biggest fight in his life on December 6th?
I not only hope so. I know so.

But then again, I am just being superstitious as well.
