CANOY-JANDAENG TITLE FIGHT ON 'THE MAIN EVENT' By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Fri, 08 Aug 2008 ![]() The WBO Oriental featherweight title defense of former amateur standout Eric Canoy against Thailand’s hard-hitting Terdsak Jandaeng who is rated No. 10 by the IBF and No. 9 by the WBO in Zamboanga City will be telecast on Sunday, August 10. Fight fans will get a chance to see the fight which will be telecast on the top-rated weekly boxing show ‘THE MAIN EVENT” over IBC 13 at 9:00 p.m. and replayed the following Sunday at 10:00 p.m. on Viva Prime. The telecast is sponsored by Tanduay, the No.1 Rhum, Pagcor, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation and PCSO, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office. Popular congressman Erbie Fabian who handles Canoy and several other fighters promoted the exciting fight card along with well-known promoter Sammy Gello-ani and Viva Sport. Canoy entered the ring with a record of 7-0-1 with 5 knockouts while Jandaeng who is nicknamed the “Pit Bull” is 30-3-0 with 20 knockouts. In an exciting fight card where the top three fights were telecast “live” via satellite in Thailand, former flyweight champion Federico Catubay battled game Narindech Sakchatree. Catubay while veteran Samransak Singmanassak faced undefeated youngster Felix Tanamor. The Catubay and Tanamor fights will be telecast on subsequent shows.
