Basahon TKOs Indita in 1st round

SUPER lightweight Gerald Basahon of El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental made an impressive debut by scoring a technical knockout victory against Rey John “Jadry” Indita of Bukidnon in the “Bakbakan sa Baguio” last March 19 at the Baguio Gym in Baguio, Calinan, Davao City.
The 23-year-old Basahon TKO’d Indita in the 1st round. Indita lost his air and could no longer answer the 2nd round.
Meanwhile, undefeated Jubert “Vampire” Buhat of Bacoor, Cavite beat former mixed martial artist Jelo Bacalso of Digos City by a split decision in a 6-round bout.
It was a bell-to-bell encounter with Buhat finally edging Bacalso at the end with a 5th round knockdown.
The 21-year-old Buhat now has six wins and three knockouts while Bacalso suffered his fourth loss against one win and one draw.
The other bouts:
Alvin Camigue defeated John Vincent Pangga by a majority decision;
Junare Gallego stopped Frankie Batoon in 1st round;
Ralph Valdez settled a majority against Kevin Labansa;
Jomari Pagulong won by a split decision over Donato Jordan.
The boxing event was a joint venture between Alcazar Boxing Promotions and Amoy Promotions.
The Alcazar Boxing Promotions was composed of Dr. William Arcilla, lawyer Rizal Acas and businessman Firmo Justine Aligato while Amoy Promotions is owned by Alex Amoy.
