Infiesto, Arellano face tough competition in 4th National Executive Chess Championships Mindanao Leg rapid chess tilt By Marlon Bernardino PhilBoxing.com Tue, 21 Mar 2023 MANILA---International Arbiter James Infiesto and Fr. Vic Arellano expect rough sailing in the 4th National Executive Chess Championships Mindanao Leg where they will be meeting a tough line of competitors on March 25, Saturday at the Limketkai Mall, 2nd Floor, Green Lane, Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City. The one-day rapid event (15 minutes plus 5 seconds increment time control format), backed by the LGU of the province of Misamis Oriental and the City of Cagayan de Oro offers 15,000 PHP to the champion. Organized by Cagayan de Oro-Misamis Oriental Chess Association in partnership with Philippine Executive Chess Association. "Participants must be a qualified PECA member," said PECA president Dr. Fred Paez. “It will be a very tough match against the Luzon players. Not to be outdone are players from the Visayas and Mindanao," said Infiesto, Board Member of National Council on Disability Affairs and Creative Director of Bonjee Entertainment Services. “We are expecting tough matches but we will try our best,” said Arellano, Clergy of Iglesia Filipina Independiente. Other PECA member woodpushers joining the competition are Santiago Palma Lumancas III, (Chief Investigator, Initao MPS), Mark Geoffrey Marinay (Junior Assistant Manager of Banco de Oro Unibank), Paul Abejo Omongos (Chief Operation Officer & Principal Engineer, Hanep Bahay Construction Corporation), Engr Leonard SagaraL ( Control Room Engineer of Bio Renewable Energy Ventures Inc.), Bobby John Urquia (Chief Financial Officer of Hanep Bahay Construction Corporation), Alexis Agno (Chief Executive Officer & Real Estate Consultant of Hanep Bahay Construction Corporation), Benoni Wabe (Proprietor of Packaging Materials Trading) and PLTCol. Jerry Atido Tambis (Acting Chief of Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division, Police Regional Office 10). Other notable participating are Naphtali Wabe (Pastor of Eternal Word of Promise Christian Ministries, Inc.), Cipriano Magalso (Certified Public Accountant and Owner of C.A. Magalso Auditing Office), Jasper Kit Abesamis (Telecom Engineer of Fiber Infrastructure & Network Services, Inc.), Jaime Joshua Frias (Former Barangay Captain), Cleto P. Vasquez (Businessman), Homer A.
