Athletics Festival at UM on March 18-19

THE exciting 86th Araw ng Dabaw Athletics Festival 2023 will be held on March 18 and 19 at the University of Mindanao oval in Ma-a.
It is presented by Davao City Track and Field Association (DCTAFA) headed by its president Kenneth Sai.
“We’re expecting 200 participants to vie for the 384 medals at stake,” said Sai.
There will be seniors, juniors and elementary divisions. The events are 100 meters, 200m, 400m, 1500m, 3000m, 5000m, 10K, 4x100 and 4x400 relay.
Also to be played are shot put, discus throw, javelin throw, long jump, triple jump and 2000 steeplechase.
Expected to compete are athletes from Davao del Sur, Mati, Marawi, Tacurong, Bukidnon, Maasin City, Leyte Sports Academy and Davao City.
“Electronic timing will be used for this event courtesy of PARAFA EVP and Regional Director Willie Torres,” said Sai.
It is supported by the UM, Davao City Sports Office, Cong. Paolo Duterte, Sen. Bato dela Rosa, Dennis Scott and AYU Construction.
