By Lito delos Reyes PhilBoxing.com Sat, 11 Feb 2023
FORMER Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) light flyweight champion Edward “El Heneral Fighting” Heno of Paranaque City tipped the scales at 115 pounds while undefeated Kevin Jake “KJ” Cataraja of Cebu City was 113 pounds for today's main event in General Santos City.
The 30-year-old Heno (15-1-6, 5KOs) won the vacant OPBF light flyweight title in Japan last 2017.
He has successfully defended the title three times.
The last time was against Koji Itagaki of Japan by a unanimous decision on February 11, 2019 at the NTT Cred Hall in Hiroshima.
Cataraja (15-0, 13KOs), on the other hand, said that he will be looking first at Heno.
Meanwhile, International Boxing Organization World flyweight champion Dave “Dobermann” Apolinario of Maasim, Sarangani takes on Universal Boxing Organization International Light Flyweight champion Frengky Rohi of Indonesia in a non-title 10-round bout.
The other fights:
Alex Santisima versus Ramel Antaran;
Michael Romarate vs. Kim Lindog;
Jaymar Gaballo vs, Ryan Makiputin;
Kenth Gaballo vs. Jorge Perez.
The card is promoted by the Sanman Boxing Promotion composed of JC Manangquil, John Ray Manangquil and Dexter Tan.
