Vicelles TKOs Claveras in 1st round

UNDEFEATED Mark “Rasta Mac” Vicelles of Lebac, Sultan Kudarat sent down twice Richard Claveras in the 1st round for a technical knockout win last March 26 at the IPI Compound in Mandaue City.
“It was just a fluke and the right timing,” said Vicelles, who posted his 16th straight win and 9th knockout with one draw.
Vicelles hit Claveras with a straight punch on the first knockdown. Then he hit with a left overhand for the second knockdown.
Claveras suffered his 9th loss against 19 wins and two draws.
“I'm waiting for an offer outside. I hope we will be given a chance to compete in the world championship,” said Vicelles.
Vicelles is currently the no. 4 in the World Boxing Council, No. 5 both in the World Boxing Organization and International Boxing Federation. He is also the no. 15 by the World Boxing Association.
Meanwhile, bantamweight Benny Canete stopped John Kenan Villaflor in the 1st round while featherweight Franco Serafica scored a unanimous decision over Rimon Rama.
The promoter was Pio Castillo Jr. while the ring physician was Rene Bonsubre.
