Gentri youth woodpushers to compete in Face to Face Mactan Open chess

MANILA---General Trias City youth chessers will vie for chess supremacy in the 1st Mactan Open: Barkadahan Para sa Bansa Championship over the board (face to face) chess tournament to be held on December 9 to 15 at the Solea Mactan Resort, Cordova, Mactan Islands, Cebu.
The tournament is expected to draw some of the country’s best woodpushers that will vie for the P50,000 champion’s purse according to Chess Movement chairman (CPA-Phd) Dr. Ariel B. Potot.
Bonjoure Fille Suyamin, 12 yrs. old, a Grade Six Pupil of Del Rosario Christian Institute in General Trias City and Janmyl Tisado, 16 yrs. old, a Grade Eeleven or Senior High School in Adamson Univeristy in Manila are the Gentri young woodpushers to watch in the said chessfest.
Joining Suyamin and Tisado are Geraldine Mae Camarines of Governor Ferrer National High School, Jeanne Marie Arcinue of Santiago Elementary School, Raymundo Bonoan III of Tropical Village Elementary School and John Martin Firmalino of Santiago National High School.
"We hope to do well in this prestigious event," said playing Coach Ederwin Estavillo who is also the president of General Trias City Chess Club under the guidance of Cong. Jon-Jon Ferrer and Mayor Ony Ferrer.
