Araneta KOs Claveras in 1st round

DAVAO CITY (July 16) – Christian Araneta landed a series of punches on the head of Richard Claveras resulting in a 1st round knockout today at the Tabunoc Sports Complex in Talisay City.
Araneta of Cebu immediately started to work with jabs but Claveras of Silay City also tried to throw his punches.
But Araneta had many more punches than Claveras, who went down to the canvas helplessly.
Araneta improved his record to 20 wins with 16 knockouts against two defeats while Claveras suffered his 8th defeat against 19 wins.
Meanwhile, undefeated Criztian Pitt Laurente of Gen. Santos City knocked out Kim Lindog of Bukidnon in the 3rd round earlier.
Laurente now has seven wins with four knockouts while Lindog suffered his 11 setbacks with five wins and one draw.
The fights were on the undercard of the vacant OPBF Minimumweight title championship between Melvin Jerusalem and Toto Landero.
