Who is Robert "Super Inggo" Paradero?
By Fred Sta. Rita Jr. PhilBoxing.com Sat, 20 Feb 2021
Paradero (C) with his brother (L) and coach (R).
As the fight draws near, we look at one of the gladiators, Robert Paradero, who will fight tonight against Vic Saludar for the WBA minimum world championship belt.
Robert Paradero is the youngest among 5 siblings originally from Malaybalay, Bukidnon, and the son of a farmer. At the young age of 9 he joined the amateur ranks despite her mother's disapproval determined to fulfill his dream that one day he will become a world champion. He went against the will of her mother.
He remembered the day he was put into a sack and was left hanging to stop him from pursuing boxing.
"Binitay ako ng mama ko nong bata pa ako, kasi hindi niya gusto ang mag boxing ako," Paradero said.
Eventually his determination to pursue boxing convinced her mother to support him.

Paradero's mother.
"Wala na siyang magawa, kaya nag pagawa nalang siya nang speed ball sa bahay at bagingan, kasi gusto ko talagang mag boxing." (She had a speed ball and self made punching installed at our home so I can pursue boxing.)
His journey was never easy and it was long and winding road. He remembered the days that he need to harvest corn and put fertilizer in the field just to earn enough money for his fare to compete in amateur contests.

Paradero's amateur teammates.
His fellow amateur fighters would even tease him that he would not get far in boxing with the way he throws his punches. His determination and passion pushed him to work twice as hard.
His dedication and unwavering desire to reach his dreams have gone a long way. Whatever the result tonight he is already a winner. His sheer determination showed as a great example not only those in the boxing world but also to everyone else that hard work really pays off.
