NBA -- Sixers' stars lay the hurt on Pistons, 125-109

DETROIT --- Tobias Harris exploded for 35 points, Joel Embiid added 20 while Ben Simmons sizzled with a triple-double to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 125-109 rout of the Detroit Pistons on Monday night (Tuesday morning RP time).
The Sixers torched Detroit's Little Caesars Arena with a blistering shooting display that saw them hit 52 of 95 from the field (54.7 percent) and 12 of 30 (40 percent) from long distance. And they missed just two of their 11 free throw attempts.
"It was just sharing the ball, moving with pace and trying to tighten the gaps," said Simmons, who tallied 16 points, 13 rebounds and a career-high 17 assists.
"We had 33 assists and 12 turnovers, which is an incredible ratio," added Sixers coach Brett Brown. Philadelphia also won the rebounding battle, 48-30, including a huge 17-6 edge on the offensive side.
Andre Drummond topped the Pistons with 27 and nine rebounds off the bench. Fellow reserve Derrick Rose chipped in 16 and seven assists but star forward Blake Griffin was held to eight points on just 2-of-14 shooting.
Despite surrendering 60 first-half points, the Pistons, who shot 51.2 percent from the field and 33.3 percent behind the arc, trailed only by eight after three quarters. But the Sixers pulled away in the final 12 minutes, using a 31-23 run to take care of business and improve their record to 20-10.
The Pistons fell to 11-20 and dropped to 11th place overall in the Eastern Conference.
