Fronda rules Lomibao-Beltran active chess championship By Marlon Bernardino PhilBoxing.com Tue, 17 Dec 2019 Woman International Master (WIM) Jan Jodilyn Fronda ruled via tiebreak the first Woman Fide Master Sheerie Joy Lomibao-Beltran Women's Open chess championship at the second floor Open Kitchen air conditioned food hall (infront of UNILAB), Rockwell Business Center, Sheridan, Greenfields District in Mandaluyong City last Sunday, December 14, 2019. Fronda, tied for first-second places with Woman Grandmaster Janelle Mae Frayna 6.0 points apiece in the rapid event hosted by China Aurelio and Mimi Casas of Open Kitchen and backed up by Woman Fide Master Sheerie Joy Lomibao-Beltran in close cooperation with Dr. Alfred Paez, Joel Pineda, Ryan Lopez Sauz and Byron Gabrentina Villar. With the highest tiebreak points, Fronda took the title while Frayna finished second. Fronda received P10,000 top purse plus trophy and Michael Kors watch while Frayna pocketed P6,000 plus trophy. Woman International Master (WIM) Bernadette Galas came 3rd with 5.5 points to went home P4,000 plus trophy followed by 4th placer Woman National Master (WNM) Francois Marie Magpily (5.0 points, P3,000 plus trophy) and 5th placer Jamaica Marie Lagrio (5.0 points, P2,000 plus trophy). Rounding up the top 20 winners were Brena Mae Membrere (6th); Rida Jane Young (7th); WIM Catherine Perena-Secopito (8th); WFM Cherry Ann Mejia (9th); Alexis Anne Osena (10th); Manilyn Cabungcag (11th); Rinoa Mariel Sadey (12th); Krezyl Jane Ibanez (13th); Justnin Macapuno (14th); Angel Mae Orijuela (15th); Shaira Mae Aquno (16th); Stella Theresa Aquino (17th); Vanezza Fe Villamil (18th); Merlene Membrere (19th) and Eula Djemarie Dela Cruz (20th).-Marlon Bernardino- Click here to view a list of other articles written by Marlon Bernardino.  |
