NBA -- Clippers continue strong playoffs push
By Carlo Jay Cabagnot PhilBoxing.com Wed, 13 Mar 2019

The Los Angeles Clippers continued to make a strong push for the playoffs and have won their fifth in a row following a 140-115 rout of the visiting Boston Celtics at the Staples Center.
Lou Williams drilled 14 of 20 field goals to lead the charge with 34 points while Montrezl Harrell had 26. Danilo Gallinarii added 25 markers and five rebounds as the Clippers shot a high 61.6 percent from the field on 53 of 86 field goals made. Los Angeles, which hosted Hawaiian Night, converted 13 of 28 from three-point range, a high 46.4 percent clip.
It was a historic night for the 32-year old Williams, a 13-year veteran who surpassed Dell Curry as the all-time leading scorer in bench points, surpassing the previous mark of 11,147 set by Dell Curry.
"Being a sixth man and a career bench player is amazing, to have an opportunity to have something like that is special," Williams told reporters after the contest. "I've just continued to play aggressive and the shots have really been falling the last couple of games."
Terry Rozeir paced the Celtics with 26 while Jaylen Brown had 22. Kyrie Irving settled for 18.
The Clippers are now sixth in the Western Conference standings with a 39-29 slate while the Celtics, who shot 44 of 91 shots and 14 of 36 triples, stayed in fifth place in the Eastern Conference with a 41-27 card.
