Canelo is looking to KO Jacobs on May 4th By Rich Mazon PhilBoxing.com Thu, 28 Feb 2019 New York - Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez might have been a beneficiary of favorable scoring in his big fights in Las Vegas in the past but the popular champion from Mexico will be looking to stop Daniel Jacobs when they meet in the ring on May 4th. ?It?s something that I am always looking for. The fans love it. It?s more spectacular to win by knockout,? said Alvarez during the first leg of their three-city tour to promote their match. The two middleweight champs will be trying to unify the three belts in their possession when they meet at the T- Mobile Arena in Las Vegas during Cinco de Mayo weekend. But before that, Alvarez and Jacobs face the media, the fans and each other at the Hard Rock Cafe at Times Square to officially announce their big match. Alvarez, holder of the 160 pound belts from the World Boxing Council (WBC) and the World Boxing Organization (WBA), admitted that Jacobs, who holds the International Boxing Federation strap, is a difficult opponent because of his style and movement. ?Without a doubt, his style and his abilities can complicate anyone. But that is why we are going to go into camp and prepare a strategy, work hard like we always do so that at the day of the fight everything comes out the right way,? Alvarez stated in Spanish and translated to English by Golden Boy executive Roberto Diaz. That ?right way? that he mentioned is a thrilling win by knockout like the one he recently scored just nine blocks away at Madison Square Garden Arena last December against a bigger opponent in Michael ?Rocky? Fielding. Alvarez won a version of the Super Middleweight belt as a price for his victory - making him a three-division champion. ?It?s always something that?s on my mind to give to the fans. With intelligence, I have to do my thing and do it right but yes of course, winning by knockout is what?s on my mind.? Canelo at this early stage is favored to win against Jacobs, but he is not only looking to win by points but by a dramatic finish.
