CRAWFORD-MOLINA, PARKER-RUIZ, JOSHUA-MOLINA AND CUELLAR-MARES AND OTHER TITLE FIGHTS ON DECEMBER 10 By Maloney L. Samaco PhilBoxing.com Fri, 09 Dec 2016 The boxing year 2016 will end with a Big Bang as four world title fights featuring prominent names in the world of boxing and two other world championship fights are scheduled on December 10 at different venues around the globe. At Omaha, Nebraska, USA, Terence Crawford will defend his title against John Molina for the WBO and WBC junior welterweight title. At Auckland, New Zealand, Joseph Parker will fight Andy Ruiz Jr. for the vacant WBO heavyweight belt. At Manchester, England, Anthony Joshua will defend his IBF world heavyweight title against Eric Molina. The undercard also features prominent names vying for United Kingdom titles. Dillian Whyte will stake his British heavyweight title versus Dereck Chisora which also serves as the WBC title eliminator. Another world championship in the undercard involves champion Luis Concepcion defending against Khalid Yafai for the WBA junior bantamweight strap. Callum Smith will defend his British super middleweight title against Luke Blackledge. Former WBA World super bantamweight champ Scott Quigg goes to the next division and clashes with Jose Cayetano for the vacant WBA International featherweight title Title holder Hosea Burton and challenger Frank Buglioni will vie for the British light heavyweight title. Olympic gold medalist Katie Taylor will climb the ring for her second pro fight opposite Viviane Obenauf in a 6-round female junior lightweight bout. At Los Angeles, California, USA, Jesus Cuellar's WBA "regular" featherweight title will be challenged by Abner Mares. Supporting the main event will be Jermall Charlo vs. Julian Williams for Charlo's IBF junior middleweight crown. Also, Lenny Zappavigna and Sergey Lipinets will contest in an IBF junior welterweight eliminator At Monterrey, Mexico, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will battle Dominik Britsch for a 10-round super middleweight fight.
