ALBERT PAGARA FIGHTS COMMEY FOR REDEMPTION By Maloney L. Samaco PhilBoxing.com Fri, 25 Nov 2016  At fight night Saturday November 26 at Cebu Coliseum, Prince Albert Pagara faces Raymond Commey of Accra, Ghana in what was billed as "Road to Redemption." It will be included in the Pinoy Pride 39 yearend presentation of the world famous ALA Boxing Promotions. The 22-year-old Maasin City-born fighter was previously undefeated in 26 fights before suffering an eighth-round KO from Cesar Juarez of Mexico last July 9. Before the fall, he was leading in the scores courtesy of a first-round knockdown of Juarez at the San Mateo Event Center in San Mateo, California. ?I learned many things about that fight," Pagara said referring to his first loss. "I was really sorry for my fans for failing them. But we will come back and your support inspires me a lot to move on." Albert, who did not lost a single amateur fight, has a 67% KO rate in 27 pro fights in 127 rounds. Commey from Accra, Ghana has a professional record of 16-3-0, 9 KOs for a 47% KO rate in 19 bouts and 135 rounds. This will be his only second time that he will fight outside his home country. On February 12, 2016, he lost by unanimous decision to XiaoJun Qiu at the Olympic Park Arena, Lu Zhou, China for the WBA International super bantamweight title. The 27-year-old Commey was the Ghanaian super bantamweight champion. He knocked out compatriot Emmanuel Quartey for the vacant West African Boxing Union super bantamweight title. Commey also won the WBA Pan African super bantamweight title by winning over Kenyan Nick Otieno. In the Pagara fight, he is coming off a 3rd round TKO win against Raymond Ansahn last April 9 in Accra, Ghana. ?This fight for Albert is very important. He must win this fight so that he can finally move on and close that dark chapter of his career,? trainer Edito Villamor told Cebu Daily News. Pinoy Pride 39 is headlined by Milan Melindo vs. Fahlan Sakkreerin Jr. of Thailand in a12-rounds clash for the vacant IBF interim junior flyweight title.
