NBA PLAYOFFS -- Raptors extinguish Heat to take 3-2 series lead By Mark Josef PhilBoxing.com Fri, 13 May 2016 ![]() TORONTO --- Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan played like All-Stars and led the Toronto Raptors to a 99-91 Game 5 victory over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night at the full house Air Canada Centre. Held to 9 points on 4-of-17 shooting in Game 4, DeRozan had a huge bounce back game with 34 points while hitting 50 percent of his field goals. He went 11-for-11 from the free throw line, including a pair of big ones that handed Toronto a 97-89 bulge with 21 seconds left to play. DeRozan left the game with an apparent finger injury with less than 8 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter but was able to come back with 4 minutes left. Toronto led by as many as 20 points (55-35) in the first half but was cut down to one point in the dying minutes of the fourth stanza. Lowry, meanwhile, dropped 25 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. His step-back 3 with 52 seconds to go gave the Raptors a comfortable 6-point margin. Miami tried to mount a comeback but Lowry thwarted the uprising with another jumper that widened Toronto's lead. When it looked like Miami was poised to take once over the lead, like they did late in the previous games, Lowry pulled up for a long 3 pointer with 52 seconds remaining to give the Raptors a 6 point lead. Dwayne Wade led the Heat with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The Raptors will try to close the series in Miami on Friday.
