NBA -- Warriors KO Spurs, 120-90
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Wed, 27 Jan 2016

CHICAGO -- The titanic showdown between two of the best teams in the NBA this season turned out to be a dud, thanks to reigning MVP Stephen Curry, who erupted for 37 points.
In yet another sizzling display of markmanship, Curry swished 12 of 20 field goals, 6-of-9 threes and 7-of-7 free throws as the Golden State Warriors trampled the visiting San Antonio Spurs, 120-90, on Monday night at the Oracle Arena.
After taking a 29-23 first quarter lead, the Warriors extended their halftime advantage to 62-45. More torrid shooting followed in the third stanza and when the smoke cleared, Golden State had elected a 95-64 bubble. The Warriors shot 51.8 percent from the field while winning the rebounding (45-38) and assists (31-21) battles.
"They outplayed us in every single aspect of the game. Aggression was one," Spurs veteran Manu Ginobili told NBA.com.
Draymond Green was stellar for Golden State with 11 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Klay Thompson had a quiet 11 points and the Warriors improved to 41-4.
Kawhi Leonard topped the Spurs with 16 points. David West, who started in place of the resting Tim Duncan, accounted for 12 points and five boards. Boban Marjonaic had 12 off the banch.
San Antonio fell to 38-7, still second best in the NBA behind Golden State.
