NBA -- Heat stings Hornets, 104-94
By Roman David Garay PhilBoxing.com Fri, 30 Oct 2015

MIAMI - The NBA unveiled 14 games Wednesday night and the Miami Heat opened its season with a 104-94 victory against the visiting Charlotte Hornets at American Airlines Arena.
Free agent signee Gerald Green scored 19 points off the bench and provided what Miami was lacking last season: bench depth and three point shooting (5 made-threes)
Chris Bosh on his first regular season game back since suffering a life threatening blood clots in his lungs last season scored 21 points and 10 rebounds. Dwayne Wade added 20 points and 5 assists.
The Heat used a 26-9 run towards the end of the second quarter to hold a 54-44 advantage at halftime.
Miami extended its lead to as much as 20 points in the second half before the Hornets led by Jeremy Lin's 12 second half points (17 total) cut the deficit to five 97-92 with 58 seconds left in the game.
But on the ensuing possession swingman Loul Deng scored on a wide open three pointer off a terrific team-ball movement to put the game for good for Miami.
?Those are the toughest times to do it, is when you trust your talent and your own self.. to make the right basketball play,? head coach Erik Spoelstra described that crucial Deng score in a post-game conference. ?Dwyane moved it, got to Goran [Dragic]. He had an opportunity to make a play. It looked like he was open for a second for a three and moved it for a better one. So it goes from good to good to great and you live with the result."
Kemba Walker led Charlotte with a team high 19 points and center Al Jefferson chipped in 17 points all in the first half.
Charlotte will try to notch its first win of the season on the road again versus the Atlanta Hawks while Miami will visit their former ally Lebron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday.
