MIAMI -- Two of the most successful franchises in the NBA met at the American Airlines Arena two days ago, a tussle that featured some of the games biggest games.
Although it was just a preseason game, one in which the Miami Heat barely bested the San Antonio Spurs, 97-94, the fans at the American Airlines Arena got a huge treat as an array of All-Stars strutted their stuff.
Gerald Green led the Heat with 17 while Miami's new Big 3 -- Dwyane Wade. Chris Bosh and Luol Deng --- combined for 36 points and 10 rebounds among them.
The Spurs also paraded their vaunted Big 3. Elder staresman Tim Duncan had 10 points and six boards, Tony Parker doled out eight points and five dimes, while Manu Ginobili added 10 off the bench. LaMarcus Aldridge, who was acquired by San Antonio during the free agency season, topscored for the Spurs with 17.
Among the familiar faces who graced the American Airlines Arena for the Spurs vs Heat battle were (L to R from the top) Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green of the San Antonio Spurs and Cris Bosh and Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat. (photos by R.D. Garay@philboxing)>
