ALA BOYS FINAL MEDIA DAY (PHOTOS AND VIDEO) By Ed de la Vega, DDS PhilBoxing.com Sun, 11 Oct 2015 Hollywood, CA: At a little past noon today, ALA Promotions International and its partners. ABS-CBN Sports and TFC held the final presscon for their fighters who are headlining the first ever Filipino boxing promotions in the US at the Fortune Gym along Sunset Blvd in this City. The modestly attended event started slightly behind schedule due to other activity programs for the fighters but when it finally got started it went off rather smoothly. The boys had to do ?Meet and Greet? in West Covina to hype the fight. Displaying some of their talents to the mostly local Filipino media, the boys awed them, particularly those who don?t cover boxing events routinely. ?Mukhang laban na laban na silang lahat,? (It looks like they are ready to fight) one of the pundits in the group was heard to say. ?Ganda nang pinakita nilang bilis,? (Nice display of speed) he added. The boys did some shadow boxing and a short punch mitt sessions with their trainers, the multi-awarded trainers of the year, Edito and Edmund Villamor. The ALA Promotions will be held at the StubHub Center in seven days, (October 17th). In the main event, Philippines? longest reigning boxing world champion, Donnie Nietes (36-1-4, 21KO)) will defend his belt against a Mexican challenger, Juan ?Pinky? Alejo. (21-3-0, 13KO) Also featured will be the Pagara brothers, Jason (36-2-0, 22KO who will trade leathers with Santos Benavides (25-7-0, 19KO) and Albert (24-0-0, 17KO) who will meet William Gonzalez (27-5-0, 23KO). Another young promising fighter, Mark Magsayo (11-0-0, 9KO) will tangle with Yardley Suarez (13-0-0-, 8KO). This battle of undefeated fighters will potential steal the thunder for the evening, but then again that is why ALA Promotions International opted to put it up. A good show is what is needed to support their main event and brilliantly showcase their first US venture in the US boxing market. Nietes on the heavy bag.
