NBA -- Revamped Heat preps for another season
By Roman David Garay PhilBoxing.com Wed, 30 Sep 2015

MIAMI - Summer is finally over and for us basketball fans, the NBA season is just around the corner.
The Miami Heat and 26 other teams around the league held their Media day, Monday (Boston, Charlotte,LA Clippers and Orlando Magic held theirs last Friday). The American Airlines Arena practice court was filled with flashing lights, multiple cameras stationed at different angles.
Buzzing reporters and scribes were treated with a first- hand look to the revamped Miami Heat roster.
During the off season, Miami added key pieces to its team signing Gerald Green and former All-Star Amare Stoudamire to veteran minimum contracts.
The team also netted Blue Devil Justice Winslow in the draft. A few days ago they inked players to fill out their training camp roster in the likes of Keith Benson, Corey Hawkins and former Chicago Bull John Lucas III.
Head coach Erik Spoelstra spoke to the media earlier that day, "I'm starting my 21st year here and I've said it before, every single season that I've worked for Micky Arison and Pat Riley, we know what we're trying to play for.
He added, "Last season was a challenge for everybody here. We've had a lot of opportunity to recalibrate and re-energize this offseason and we want to compete for it. That goes without saying here in this organization what we're trying to put together."
Miami will hold its training camp at nearby Florida Atlantic University at Boca Raton, Fl.
