ROY JONES JR SIGNS RUSSIAN CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION

Following an earlier meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin in which he expressed his desire to become a Russian citizen, four division world champion Roy Jones Jr has gone one step further and has signed an application for Russian citizenship.
At a well-attended press conference in Yalta, Crimea in front of over 100 members of the media, Jones disclosed he had flown to Russia eleven times and said ?I love this country? amd added that he wants ?to become an active member of Russian society. I love Russian society and it likes me.?
Jones believes that Russian citizenship ?would facilitate the task of building a bridge? between Russia and the United States.
Jones is seeking dual citizenship and a Russian passport.
Promoter Vladimir Hrunov said he plans to stage a Roy Jones Jr fight in Moscow in November.
