LEE SAMUELS. MARVIN HAGLER INDUCTED INTO NEVADA BOXING HALL OF FAME

Top Rank chief publicist Lee Samuels and ?Marvelous? Marvin Hagler have been inducted into the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame, Saturday night during their 3rd annual red carpet and awards dinner gala.
Significantly, Samuels first big assignment was in the 1985 Marvin Hagler-Sugar Ray Leonard bout and has been involved in many of the biggest fights under Top Rank promoter Bob Arum over the past 25 years and has played a key role in helping promote some of the biggest names in the sport which include big money superstars like Oscar De La Hoya, eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao and undefeated pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr.
We have dealt with Samuels through the years and have never had any problems at all with the amiable, soft-spoken publicist who goes about his job with a warm and amiable disposition, always willing to help the media in doing the best job that they can.
Samuels won the Boxing Writers Association of America ?Good Guy award? in 2007. At that time current WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman was quoted by the Sweet Science when he said ?Lee Samuels is a friend of boxing. He is always willing to resolve any matter at anytime always with a smile and a will to make people happy.?
Sulaiman said ?we have known Lee for many years and he is a true gentleman and a great asset to the sport of boxing.?
Hall of Fame broadcaster Al Bernstein remarked that ?while being involved in the sport of boxing for more than 30 years there is a short list of people we have never had a moment if distress.?
Bernstein said it was not merely that Samuels was ?nice and accommodating but that he was so while remaining exceptionally good at his job.?
Bernstein added, ?he is simply a delightful man.?
