IBF ORDERS CASIMERO TO FACE MCWILLIAMS ARROYO IN A MANDATORY FOR A SHOT AT CHAMPION RUENROENG By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Fri, 17 Jul 2015  The International Boxing Federation has ordered former light flyweight champion and No.1 ranked Johnreil Casimero to once again fight for a mandatory shot at Thai champion Amnat Ruenroeng in a face-off with Puerto Rico?s McWilliams Arroyo. The IBF inexplicably ignored the fact that Casimero lost in a foul-riddled title fight against Ruenroeng in which referee Larry Doggett allowed Ruenroeng to get away with multiple fouls and infractions including several MMA style takedowns and holding, some of which lasted for 40 seconds. Despite an appeal submitted by Cssimero?s co-promoter, Filipino Sammy Gello-ani in which he cited several critical articles by respected American boxing writers, the IBF did not order a rematch and instead ordered Casimero who had previously earned the title shot with a spectacular knockout of Armando Santos in a title eliminator, to go through another title eliminator. McWilliams Arroyo of Puerto Rico, the identical twin brother of McJoe Arroyo who fights undefeated Filipino King Arthur Villanueva for the vacant IBF super flyweight title at the Don Haskins Convention Center in El Paso, Texas on Sunday, Manila Time, is ranked No. 4 and has a record of 16-2 with 14 knockouts and also suffered in a hometown decision against Ruenroeng in Thailand where, despite dropping the champion in round six still lost a very close split decision. The failure of Casimero?s co-promoter Sampson Lewkowicz to complain about the conduct of referee Doggett since he was the winner either way as he also handles Ruenroeng, left Filipino fight fans bewildered. Top Rank promoter Bob Arum had earlier offered to stage a Casimero-Ruenroeng rematch on one of his fight cards in Macau but the reaction to Arum?s kind offer was at best lukewarm with Gello-ani indicating the promoters of the Thai champion had other plans.
