?PRINCE? ALBERT PAGARA BATTLES JESUS ?CHITO? RIOS IN DUBAI ON AUGUST 7 By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Mon, 29 Jun 2015  Responding to the clamor of the large community of Filipino boxing fans in Dubai, the famed ALA Promotions and the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN along with widely watched TFC, The Filipino Channel, return to the International Trade Center in Dubai for its second blockbuster presentation in the United Arab Emirates in which undefeated IBF Intercontinental junior featherweight champion ?Prince? Albert Pagara battles Mexico?s Jesus ?Chito? Rios in the main event on August 7. Because of the turn-away crowd in their last promotion ALA and ABS-CBN have secured a bigger venue within the sprawling International Trade Center to the delight of predominantly Filipino fight fans eager to get a glimpse of the promising ?Prince? Albert Pagara who is ranked No. 7 in the world by the IBF and No. 12 by the WBC and the younger brother of talented light welterweight Jason ?El Nino? Pagara. Pagara is coming off a solid win over Mexico?s Rodolfo Hernandez who was dropped in the opening round and was forced to retire in the 4th round when he complained of a broken hand and was unable to continue. On November 15. 2014 Prince Albert Pagara dominated veteran Raul Hirales, a former world champion to win a near shutout decision over twelve rounds with two judges ? Ian Scott and Alejandro Lopez Cid scoring the fight 120-107 and Filipino judge Gil Co who had Pagara the winner 119-108. One of the most impressive performances of ?Prince? Albert Pagara was when he mauled Mexican Hugo Partida in the very first round to score a TKO to win the vacant IBF Intercontinental title after dropping the hapless Partida three times in the round. ?Prince? Albert looked royal in his total annihilation of the abrasive and cocky Hugo ?Olimpico? Partida who head-butted and threw a punch at Pagara during the weigh-in,prompting Pagara to vow to destroy the Mexican. And he did so in awesome fashion. Pagara dropped Partida early in the opening round before a flurry of punches had the Mexican reeling against the ropes which propped him up and prevented him from going down with the referee correctly ruling a knockdown. While Partida beat the count it was obvious he wouldn?t escape the wrath of Pagara who finished off Partida with a cracking left hook to the jaw that sent the Mexican crashing to the canvas prompting the referee to halt the massacre at 1:18 of the opening round. The 30 year old Rios is no pushover and has a record 25 knockouts in 31 wins with 7 losses and is coming off a 1st round TKO over Aram Valle last May 15. However, in a somewhat up-and-down career Rios lost by a 6th round TKO to Jesus Rendon (11-1-1, 5 KO?s) on December 20, 2014 following a stunning 1st round TKO to veteran multi-titled world champion Fernando ?Cochulito? Montiel on July 26, 2014. Prior to the Montiel fight Rios won by a 1st round knockout over Cristian Lopez on June 20, 2014 and a 2nd round knockout of Cristian Rodriguez in a scheduled eight round bout on March 29, 2014. However, Rios didn?t last long against hard-hitting southpaw Michael Farrenas, a prot?g? of former two-division world champion Gerry Penalosa and lost by a 2nd round TKO as referee Ferdinand Estrella called a halt at 2:40 of the round.
