CASIMERO DETERMINED TO WIN IBF FLYWEIGHT TITLE ON SATURDAY By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Fri, 26 Jun 2015 Former IBF light flyweight champion and current flyweight mandatory challenger to Amnat Ruenroeng of Thailand is determined to win his second world title and return to the Philippines for an expected hero?s welcome. The title fight at Bangkok?s Hua Mark Indoor Stadium will be telecast by TV 5 at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Veteran trainer Jhun Agrabio told the New Standard/boxingmirror.com that Casimero worked out at the hotel gym yesterday to sweat off some excess poundage and indicated he?d have no problem making the 112 pound limit at the official weigh-in at 11:00 a.m. today at the hotel. He said Casimero is ?very excited and looking forward to this fight? even as he had studied tapes of Ruenroeng?s fights and knows that ?he?s a good boxer with quick hands and moves well? but noted that the Thai has no power and Casimero who hits hard can capitalize on this using his vaunted uppercuts and overhand rights. When Ruenroeng eked out a split decision win in his title defense against McWilliams Arroyo he was dropped by a big overhand right from Arroyo giving Agrabio a clue to a possible game-plan which he said they have worked on over and over again since Casimero began training in Las Vegas at the Roy Jones Gym, where he sparred with former world champion Marvin ?Marvelous? Sonsona and even Roy Jones Jr. With well known Filipino trainer Aljoe Jaro in his corner the Thai world champion will definitely pose a threat but both Agrabio and Casimero are not bothered and said they will do what needs to be done for Casimero to win a second world title. He won the IBF light flyweight crown by a 10 round TKO over Luis Lazarte in a fight that was marred by a huge riot by Lazarte?s fans after the decision was announced.
