WARRINGTON PREPARED FOR TUBIERON TO ?FIGHT FOR HIS LIFE?
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Sat, 11 Apr 2015

Undefeated British featherweight Josh Warrington says he is prepared for Filipino Dennis ?The Scorpion? Tubieron to ?fight for his life? when they clash for the WBC International featherweight title in a world title eliminator at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.
Sky Sports which will telecast the fight in the United Kingdom reported that at the official weigh-in, Warrington received a raucous welcome from hometown fans as he made the weight tipping the scales at 125 pounds which was also the weight of Tubieron.
The unbeaten 24 year old Warrington was cheered onto the stage where both fighters shook hands during what was described as ?a good-natured face-off.?
Should Warrington be able to beat the tough Tubieron it would put him in line to fight Gary Russell Jr for the WBC crown.
Undefeated in 20 fights Warrington said "I've got to be on my game because I am stepping up in level. It's a massive opportunity for him. Guys that come out of the Philippines are fighting for their lives."
The 25 year old Tubieron has three defeats in his 24-bout record with 8 knockouts to the three by Warrington. Tubieron is coming off a highly controversial majority draw in a battle with Carlo Magali for the vacant WBC International featherweight title last December 28.
The fight marks Warrington's return to his hometown of Leeds for the first time since capturing the European featherweight title with a 4th round TKO of Davide Dieli on October 4, 2014.
At the weigh in Warrington said "The Leeds crowd are very passionate of their own. They just see a lad from the estate who gives it his all and they want to get behind that. I know that if I keep on winning big things are to come for myself and Leeds."
